Two elements of a good Friday night: Weekend Doggie Double

The quality of these photos is not very good (you might even say they are really bad) -- but the quality of Matt, Mary and BlogDog's Friday evening out at Proto's Pizzaria Napoletana on 15th St. was quite high.

  1. BlogDog, you look so lonely. I hope Matt and Mary tossed you some crust to enjoy. And BlogDog, I know you're not a NJ native, but I'm curious how you would rate the pizza vis a vis East coast pizza (in case you happened to have been back East). I struggled many years to find good pizza when I left NJ.

  2. Eugene -- No crusts for me, so I can't speak from experience. But I can say that Mary and Matt agree there is no comparison at all between East coast pizza and the rest of the pizza in the US.

    Cheese on bread is always a good thing -- but there's something outrageously delicious about NJ pizza that doesn't seem to be duplicated anywhere else in the country.
